Every Morning I get up and say YES
on Thursday, June 30, 2011I have been a big fan of Jeffery Gitomer for years (www.gitomer.com) as I am generally in-sync with his philosophy. Jeffery suggests that each day should start with some reading matter, but not just any book will do. He and I want you to read something “positive” each morning. You don’t need to read chapters every day, sometimes a few pages will do.
I am currently reading Jeffery’s ‘Little Gold book of YES Attitude’ and came to page 121, where Jeffery has a quote by The Great Jim Rohn and that I would like to share with you:
Philosophy drives Attitude.
Attitude drives Actions.
Actions drive Results.
Results Drive Lifestyles.
If you don’t like your Lifestyle, look at your Results!
If you don’t like your Results, look at your Actions!
If you don’t line your Actions, look at your Attitude!
If you don’t like your attitude look at you Philosophy!
He goes on to say: “if you have a philosophy of service to others, and if you have a positive attitude, then you can BEGIN to take success actions!”
“Successful people do what unsuccessful people don’t (won’t) do. Successful people live outside their comfort zone. Successful people hang around money or things that make money. Successful people are consistent (will be there next year). Successful people stay in the fire. Successful people know how to access information. Successful people are always learning!”
I don’t want to sound like I am standing on a soap box (being pretentious), but I do think that when you reflect on what Jim Rohn is saying, and then you think about why you are successful, it comes from your Philosophy and Attitude, followed by the Actions (hard work) you take which get you the Results you want!
Take the time to share this with your colleagues, friends and family, because it works at every level!
If you want to have a successful business and life you have to set out to make it happen and the Philosophy of “YES” is a great foundation to build your life around!
